Hi! I’m a Japanese-to-English translator and video game localization specialist based in Osaka, Japan. I’ve lived in Japan for twelve years as of 2020.
I started watching wrestling while trying out hobbies that would force me to use more Japanese outside of work and got hooked almost immediately. The promotions I follow most closely right now are DDT, Tokyo Joshi Pro, and Ice Ribbon.
About the Site
Head, meet Chair is primarily a space for sharing my personal translation projects, at least most of which will be related (however tangentially) to Japanese professional wrestling.
None of the images, etc. from the original sources are included, because I hope you’ll click through to see them and give them the page views they deserve where applicable. Please visit the original sites so they’ll see that you’re interested in their content.
Please do not use or repost my translations without attribution.
Please feel free to e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions, comments, juicy job offers or if you need help correctly pronouncing “enzuigiri.”
You can find me on Twitter at @johnnylandmine.
Should the spirit so move you, I gratefully accept tips via Ko-fi.
